Brenda Loube, President, Corporate Fitness Works Appears on Weekend Live (Fox News)
August 15, 2006 - Montgomery Village, MD – Brenda Loube, the president and co-founder of Corporate Fitness Works was recently interviewed by Brian Wilson, host of Weekend Live regarding the growing number of companies allowing their employees to take time out of their work day to work out or engage in other healthy activities.
When questioned by Mr. Wilson regarding how taking time out of their work day affects productivity, Ms. Loube explained that a fit employee is more productive, “It is the necessity for companies to help their employees become more physically active, healthier. It’s going to control costs; it’s going to obviously help reduce absenteeism and sick leave; it’s going to reduce workers comp claims. Overall, a healthy employee is going to save the company money, and to me, is the competitive advantage for companies today.” She suggested that Fox News employees wear pedometers to measure the number of steps they take in a day, with the goal of achieving 10,000 steps per day.
